All quilters will at some point need a background fabric to showcase the main design. Some people like to use plain or solid colours, but you will often find that using what is known as a tone-on-tone will work better and provide more overall movement and texture to the resulting design.
Shades and tones of the same colour are spread in clouds across the blender to create a gently multi-toned fabric. You will find a range of colours here but if you can't find what you are looking for check out the Moda Marbles, Marbelous or Marble Mania collections.

Michael Miller is well known for brightly coloured and often unusual prints including subjects such as village scenes with ladies taking their poodles for a walk! Here you will find all those other, often one-off fabrics that are from the studios of Michael Miller.
It's always worth having a look at the latest designs and you might just find a little inspiration for something a little different. Why not make a summer skirt out of the village scene?!
