By Fabric Type
We have divided our fabrics into three main groups, Batik, Japanese and Wovens. Within each of these groups you can search for specific colours or patterns. Some quilters will keep to one fabric type in any one project so those people will find it easy to find what they want here.
Selection of Textures & Fabrics
To make a quilt with a sumptuous rich and silky effect the quilter could use a selection of Japanese prints which embody these qualities. For a project with striking hot colours and abstract or natural patterns then a range of Batik fabrics could be the best option. If you are looking for a fabric in a specific style such as a floral or blender then you will find these under 'by Fabric Pattern' in the left hand menu.
It is not necessary to stick to just one type of fabric and using various fabric types can make a texturally interesting and individual project. For example, woven fabrics can blend well with other types of printed fabric. Consider mixing fabric types in appliqué projects or when making a quilt in a crazy patchwork pattern or in patterns such as the Log Cabin or strip quilting.
