Multi-coloured patchwork quilting fabrics are prints where no one colour is dominant. Even where one colour is slightly more dominant than the others, in multi-colour prints the eye finds it difficult to identify it. It is like looking into a pot of hundreds and thousands sugar strands.
Many novelty prints, such as children's quilts for example are multi-coloured. Certain floral, stripes and polka dot patterned fabrics also fall into this colour category.
There is a sense of fun and freedom in using multi-coloured prints. When you start a project with such prints it is up to you whether you use them in combination with other colour fabrics which will draw out a particular colour; or whether you follow a rainbow of colours in your design.
