This is a beautiful misty design of squares giving the impression of antique tiles. This fabric is part of the Pompeii Collection by Sue Zipkin.

The squares are coloured cream, beige, walnut brown, lavender and purple. The tiles give the impression of having been painted on by hand and so the edges are not truly straight. Each tile measures a quarter of an inch square. 

The design will of course act as the perfect companion to the other patterns and blenders in the Pompeii collection. It could make a perfect border or be used as sashing. It could make a good background for an appliqué project for soft furnishings, book covers or bags on which naive or crewel style flowers and butterflies could be added.
